Its fucking epic.
Ok, so its been a while since we did a wtfbbq update, primarily because my job totally consumes my life – well, not this weekend! I got warhammer online on friday (finnally)
After leveling seven level 50′s in DAoC (taking one of them to realm rank 9) and five level 70′s in world of warcraft (taking 2 of them through s3 / BT) I thought I’d had my time with MMOs and moved on with my life. That’s around 2 solid years of my life right there in game time.
Where to begin? well, there’s a whole boat load of new shit and some much needed improvements to the standard MMO mold. Take collision for example. I absolutely love this feature in RVR (PVP) 2 big Orc tanks can completely block your path, finally – the meatshields of MMOs have a role in pvp!
Then there’s the vast amount of XP you get for participating in RVR scenarios (and gear, and coin) after several hours testing I found that you can grind about the same amount of XP from pvp as you can from questing an area, epic! the best part is… you don’t have to travel when you decide you want to pvp, its always 1 click away, this really helps break the monotony of a long solo PVE grind.
Another fucking awesome attribute to Warhammer Online is the death penalty system. NO DURABILITY LOSS! no corpse running, no gay repair bills… whoever added this, fucking genius.
Then, there’s public quests. while your exploring the land, grinding area to area you come across many of these. Simply start participating, help with the quest requirements, then roll for the loot, even if your not grouped or don’t know anyone , just walk right up to whatever the fuck is going on and get involved.
So far I’m a level 15.9 marauder, with 22 gold and some purple boots I won from a gold bag after rolling a 900! I’m on the Azazel server (Chaos, obviously) and I fucking love this game. Great job mythic and EA, after some 5(?) years of development, this ones a fucking winner. Highly reccommend it, I suggest you go buy it, roll a chasos on azael and come say Hi.
